We are looking for information on my GG Grandmother - Elizabeth Thomas (born 1848) who sailed to Pennsylvania from (we think) Liverpool sometime between 1868 and 1878 with her husband (name unknown), son Daniel and possibly another son John. We know that her husband was killed in the mines out there and she came back to Britain. We would appreciate any help you may be able to give on how we could find out more about this.

Does anyone have any idea how we could find the death of my Great Great Grandmother's first husband when all we know is that he was killed in a Pennsylvania mine prior to 1876 and after 1868 and that they were originally from South Wales, his wife's name was Elizabeth Thomas born 1848 and her son's name was Daniel born 1871. Also does anyone know of any free ship's passenger listings that we can search please?
