I am searching for the family of Frederick John Holland (Printer & Compositor) (b.13 Nov 1843 @ 16, Thomas Street, Lambeth.) After the death of his father in 1854 he may have been the main stay of the household, but after the 1861 Census, he no longer appears there. Does he appear in anybody's family line-up please?
His father was Frederick King Holland (Printer & Compositor), b. 14 Jul 1805 @ Buckland Newton, Sherborne, Dorset.
His mother was Emily Bowerman (daughter of John Bowerman (butcher) and Ann) b. 27 Dec 1810 @ Christchurch, Southwark, Surrey.
His parents' marriage was on 20 May 1838 @ St. Mary's parish church, Lambeth.
His elder sister was Emily Holland b. 23 Feb 1842 @ 71 Cornwall Road, Lambeth.
His younger sister was Mary Ann Holland b. 9 Sep 1845 @ 16, Thomas Street, Lambeth.
The family moved to 31, Caroline Place, (Copenhagen Road), Islington.
A still younger sister, Ellen E. Holland b. 1850, was recorded in the 1851 Census and appears to have died before the 1861 Census. She was born in Islington.
His father Frederick King Holland died 11 Aug 1854 @ 31, Caroline Place.
His younger brother (my Grandfather) was Henry George King Holland, (Clerk & Secretary) (b. 13 Nov 1854 @ 31, Caroline Place, Islington. Dd. 19 Feb 1938 @ Camberwell).
Henry George King Holland married Jane Annie Franklin (b. 11 Oct 1866 in Melbourne, Victoria, Aus. Dd. 7 Jul 1951, 81, Ladywell Rd. Lewisham.) on 13 Sep 1894 @ St. Faith's church, Wandsworth. She was the daughter of William Henry Franklin (Publisher) (b. 24 Jan 1846 St. Martin's in the Field) & Jane Eadon (b. 25 Jan 1846 st. John the Evangelist, Westminster.)
Henry and Jane lived in retirement at 95, Glengarry Road, Dulwich
Please, does anyone have connections to this Holland family, or this Franklin family.
Bob Holland.

Dear Casalguidi,
Gosh, that was a quick reply! Thank you.
That sounds very much like my man! I wonder if he had time to marry.
I am also looking for evidence of what happened just after this date to his other siblings Emily and Mary Ann. Also the rest of the Franklin family, most of whom went to live in Kent I think. Thanks again.

Hello
I'm doing a bit of housekeeping and noticed this older request. Wondering if you are still looking for anything on this topic or you have resolved it in the meantime?
If we don't hear from you in a while, I'll assume the latter and move it to the 'completed' section.
Regards
Biker

Thank you Biker,
Not a great deal of response except that a first cousin contacted me after more than 50 years, so it was well worth my message on your site. Thank you again.

Hi Bob,
I'm Ben - son of Val, daughter of Eileen (Shoupe /nee Holland), daughter of Frederick Holland b. 1895 / son of Henry George King Holland / Jane Anne Franklin.
Would be very interested if you discovered any more about the Franklins, especially the Australian story.
Thanks
Ben
