Hope someone can help!
I'm looking for Fanny Lucas and any family in the 1851 census. She was born in 1849 in St James, Middlesex. By 1861 she was living in All Souls Marylebone with the Bishop family and a brother Alfred Lucas age 8.
Thanks and fingers crossed.

Welcome Lucy :)
From the 61 entry, I would say that Fanny and Alfred were the children of Ellen BISHOP before her marriage to John BISHOP, as the term "daughter in law" and "son in law" are often used to denote step-children.
Having looked through the St James Westminster index, there is an Ellen LUCAS listed, but she does not have any children. This may mean that she is not the correct person, or that Fanny's age is wrong on the 61 or that Fanny was just not living with her mother in 51.
1851 Census
HO107/1484 Folio 299b
Parthenon Club
16 Regents Street
St James Westminster
Middlesex
LUCAS Ellen, Servant, Unmarried, 20, Housemaid, b St Pancras, Middlesex
It would probably be a good idea to obtain Fanny's birth certificate.

Lucy
I have found the Robert LUCAS who is living with the BISHOPS in 61, and there is Female child with the initials F.E.M living with him. Unfortunately, there is no relationship given. :(
1851 Census
HO107/1494 Folios 379b & 380.
27 London Street
St Pancras
Middlesex
LUCAS
Robert, Head, Married, 60, Tailor, b Fletching, Sussex
Fred W, Son, Married, 22, Tailor, b Brighton, Sussex
Elinor LUCAS, Wife, 33, b Old Bailey, Middlesex
F.E.M. (female) 3 b Pimlico.
Elinor's age has been heavily overwritten, and it is just possible that this lady was 23 and not 33. With this is mind, she could well be the Ellen BISHOP in 61, widowed and remarried.

:) Thanks so much for taking the time to help me. I have been stuck on this one for months so this is a major breakthrough and gives me something to work on!
