Hi Hellen
It looks tho Jeanie died in Glasgow 1960
1960 DAVIS JEAN MACKIE GREIG aged 81 POLLOK GLASGOW/LANARK ref no 644/11 0780
Unfortunately Scotland's People privacy rule means you can't see this on line. I'd say is worth ordering this death cert to see if she was a widow or not in 1960.
If she was you know then for sure Frederick died either before or after 1960 and that will help you narrow options down.

Hi Hellen
A wild card but a possibility is this one
1967 DAVIES FREDERICK died aged 92 GLASGOW GLASGOW/LANARK ref no 645/02 0717
but alas cannot see cos of privacy rules
But a possibility

The person who has a Ann Sinclair ( who married a Andrew Linn in 1850 ) must be a relative as those people are my grandparents.
-
Hi regal1
Andrew Linn & Ann Sinclair are my husbands great grandparents. His grandparents being John Sinclair & Amelia. Look forward to making contact.

Why don't you check and enter your surnames in the Surnames Interests Table? A quick check shows there are probably a number of other people looking for your names.
The link is via "Your Surname Interests" found at the bottom of every page.
NOW MOVED to the surnames button at the top of the page.

I've just registered on the site, having found the above message through Google. Catherine Veronica Davis was my mother and Frederick Davis was my half-sister's father. Can anyone tell me how I might get in touch with Hellen, please? I can't see an option to PM her.
All help gratefully received. :) Thanks.

Hi Anne
Thanks for that; if I'd been more awake last night I'd probably have realised. One more post to go then... ;)

From Hellen's post above:
"why on my grandfathers marriage cert in 1942 is he already deceased"
My guess is Frederick and Jeanie were divorced at the time of Edward's marriage. If Frederick hadn't remained in contact with Edward, it's quite possible Edward assumed his father was dead, when in he was living at the other end of the country.
