Title: COMPLETED- Baptismal records
Post by: RedCoat on Saturday 01 October 05 16:50 BST (UK)
I have my wifes grandfathers birth certificate, but we are trying to determine his middle name.  (there are conflicting accounts).
I had the UHF do some family research but our budget ran out before they could finish the baptismal records.
We now believe the family was baptised in Killinchy.

What is the best way to obtain Baptismal records, I don't mind paying, is there an online service?

HI THERE, the best way of getting a Baptismal Cert is to contact the Priest or Minister of the Church. If he was RC he prob Baptized very soon after his Birth usually within the week.

Thanks anne.  I am in Canada so that will mean a letter and lots of time.  I was hoping there was an online method that I could just pay to have someone look it up, but if not, then the mail method will have to do.
thanks for the info

Maybe if you know the name of the Church they might have an E-mail address.

Hi,

Ancestry Ireland (used to be called the Ulster Historical Foundation) - www.ancestryireland.co.uk now have civil and surviving church records for county Down (and Antrim) on-line. I think they need to consider their pricing but if you know the full name of who you are searching it is possible to obtain full record details.
