Hello

Stephen and Phoebe are living in Whetstone, Finchley.
Stephen 25 Ag lab  Born in county
Phoebe 25 Not born in county

The 1841 census gives very limited information.  You will need to find them in 1851 (or later) to identify place of birth and their relationship ti each other.

Thanks Barbara - somebody did find them on the 1851 census for me but just told me birth place middlesex.  I really need to know where so I can look at the parish records to get his birth information.

Thanks for your help

Oh dear, Middlesex is not very useful as a place of birth.  : (I assume Stephen was dead by the time of the1861 census or you would have checked place of birth stated then.)
However, you are lucky in that you are looking for quite an unusual surname. I found this on the Family Search site
STEPHEN PEET
  Male
Event(s):
 Birth:  25 APR 1819

 Christening:  17 OCT 1819   Old Church, Saint Pancras, London, England

Parents:
  Father:  EDWARD PEET  Family
  Mother:  MARY

Assuming Stephen was married to Phoebe (and after 1 July 1837) do you have his marriage certificate? This should give his father's name and at least indicate whether the St Pancras christening is a possible.  The names of  the witnesses may give you further clues as to siblings.

Yes, Stephen died in 1857.   I have obtained his marriage certificate and his father is listed as Stephen also.  I have seen that entry and thought it might have been him as some of his children were born in St. Pancras.

I really think I have hit a brick wall on this one!!  Not sure what to do next??
