Post by: Seano1974 on Thursday 29 September 05 12:24 BST (UK)
Hi there,

is it possible for some kind person to look up the baptism of Ann VIPEN (or variant) who was born c1827 in Urpeth, Durham? I have tried to find out what parish Urpeth is in but could not locate it.

Thanks,

Sean Halpin,
Newcastle, Australia

Sean

Urpeth is under Chester-le-Street parish.  I have had a look for Ann Vipen but at moment cant locate her.  Do you have any other information on her.

Hi Sean,
Unfortunately my Chester-le-Street baptism records cease
at 1812.

I have baptisms from 1688 to 1812, and Marriages 1582-1827.
If I can help let me know.

Geoff,
Edgeworth, Newcastle,NSW

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

The Ann VIPEN is the name provided on her daughter's death certificate in NSW Australia.

My Ann VIPEN married Thomas WAILES, but I have never been able to find their marriage. I have however found a marriage of Thomas WAILES and Ann PARK at the right time and place.

I have wondered whether the informant on the death certificate got Ann's maiden name wrong.

I don't suppose that there was an Ann PARK baptised at that time in Chester-le-Street? The approximate year and place of birth comes from several censuses of Thomas and Ann WAILES.

It's all a bit of a mystery...

Thanks,

Sean

Hi Sean,
Just been looking through Stockton, Durham 1841 for something else, came across two Whales families, John & Elizabeth, and Mary.  I know it's not Chester-leStreet but if you're interested in these and you'd like details please let me know.
