Trying to trace half sister who emigrated to N>Z> in the 60's. Her name was Martha Hamilton and she married a guy called (*) Martha is now deceased. I know its a long shot, but I'm sure they settled in Hamilton. Her dad was also my dad and his name was Robert Hamilton who, was born @ 8, Ann Street, Cowcaddens Glasgow.
His dad's name was John Hamilton and his mother was Margaret (nee Nicolson) and, she was born in 1872 in Dalmeny, Linlithgow, Scotland. Her parents' were Angus born in or around 1841 in Sleet, Inverness and, Margaret (nee Smith?) born in Kirknewton, Edinburgh, Scotland in or around 1845. Any help with this mystery would be great. Regards Susan Hamilton.

Hi Susan, Did Martha and Wally marry in NZ or Scotland, I presume you don't know his surname otherwise you would have listed it ? His surname /her married name would help.
Regards Colin

Sorry, I don't have a clue what Martha's married name was. My Dad is dead now too and, also my sister that would probably have known it. Regards. Susan Hamilton

Hi Susan
Shame about that,
How about place of Marriage and maybe a Marriage year date, even date of first child birth as a clue, may take some time but can check a few paper based listings I have and may come up with something. Can't guarrantee anything but will give it a go
Cheers Colin

Hi Susan,
You mentioned that Martha HAMILTON had died? Do you know approximately when?
It might be worth trying the Hamilton Branch of the NZ Society of Genealogists. Provide as much detail as you can.

Hi Riley. I'm sure Martha got married in London and, her first child was born there. Her married name was Richards. I have been given 1982 as a possible death year for Her. Her oldest son is in the forces in New Zealand. As far as I know he as a daughter,
Susan.

I'm sure Martha got married in London and, her first child was born there in 1959/60. Her married name was Richards
If Martha Hamilton's married name was Richards could this be her marriage to Walter E T Richards?

Susan asked if I would post this for her:
Hi Everyone. Deepest thanks to you all.
Have now made contact with Michael, and, he has sent me a couple of photos'. One of him and his family, the other of him and his dad. He is flabberghasted as to how I managed to trace him. Told him I had a lot of help from you at Roots Chat. Could'nt have done it without you.
Have sent an e-mail back to him and, I am just going to invite him to view my Ancestry Tree. He can browse that for a wee while and, see where he came from. LOL.
Susan.

Susan,
Just had a thought ..... if you ever get out here to NZ to meet Michael, give us a call ..... I am not that far away from Michael and it would be nice to put a face to a name.
