Title: Dublin City Trials
Post by: Colonial Boy on Monday 26 September 05 11:54 BST (UK)
Hi from OZ,

Could or would anyone be able to tell me if there may be a newspaper report on trials held in Dublin City 2nd January 1832.

My 3xgreat grandfather James TIGHE was convicted at that time and sentenced to this wonderful country for seven years.

Thanks
Colonial Boy

Colonial Boy,

Have a look at this site:

http://www.irelandoldnews.com/index.html

Unfortunately, 1832 is not yet online, but the site does say that it is updated often...so you could get lucky sometime soon or perhaps you could approach them and ask for it!

Hi,

The old newspapers are on film at the National Library in Dublin.

Well there you go Colonial Boy, next time you are in Dublin, visit the National Library in Kildare Street.

Seriously folks, would some kind Dublin member visit the National Library on Colonial Boy's behalf, look up the required information, then post details on this board. Colonial Boy, there appears to be a shortage of Dublin members. Would you like to attend the Roots Chat Meet in Dublin next summner .. 2007 and visit Kildare Street while you are in the city? A couple from Oz have promised to come so you should feel quite at home.
