Hi Kimberly,
I to am searching the "EDWARDS" surname,(my paternial line), and some of these names are common to my lot, any idea which area of Shropshire you are searching as the name seems to be paticulary common in the south of Shrop, My lot as far back as I have got to date c 1783, seem to originate from the small village of Cound, Im pretty certain Iv seen this household somewhere in my search but I cant rember where, Iwill have a look and let you know if I find anything,
best of luck on your line,
Pete  :D

Hello Everyone

Thank you so much for all your wonderful responses regarding this posting.  From the Research i have already undertaken a James Edwards was a Waggoners Boy on a farm.  This is also the only James Edwards fitting the age range and birth of 1836.  So bingo!

On the baptism register for Whittington there was a James Edwards born to a William and Mary, William's occupation was listed as Agricultural Labourer.

According to Shropshire County Council researches this family appear to have left Whittington by 1851.  Pardoning my geography, would Boot Street appear under a different district?

On James marriage certificate in 1860 his father was listed as a Wood Ranger.  James married at Monmore Green, Birmingham, would that have been near Whittington?

Thank you all so much for all your help.  I appreciate it greatly.

Merry Christmas  :)

Definitely Whittington in 1851
This William Edwards is still in Boot St Whittington in 1861 and recorded as wood ranger aged 68 and married to Elizabeth aged 65 both born Whittington.
RG9/1880/33/2

Ages a bit out from the 1841 but that is not unusual.
