Can anyone give me any assistance in tracing my great grandfather on the 1901 census? I have looked high and low and have had no luck.
His name was Ernest Bingham. Judging by him being 20 when he got married in Nov 1919 and 44 when he died in 1943, I would put his date of birth as being around 1899.
As far as I know he was born in Barnsley. There is a record on the freebmd website of an Ernest Bingham being born in Barnsley in 1899 but I do not have this certificate.
His father's name (as given on his marriage certificate) was Albert Bingham, a miner.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi
I can't see them either. Do you have any more information to help searching? It may mean you having to get his birth certificate.
Regards

There's an Ernest indexed as Bringham RG13/4314 Folio 32 p. 14 with a father Albert, age 2, born and living Barnsley.
Don't have access to the image but the index is free to search at www.ancestry.co.uk this month.
