I have recently received letters that state that my Meggison family had this farm for generations. In the letters, it is spelled various ways - Bellalis, Bellows, Bellas. Does anyone have any information about this farm? It may have been associated with fruit and potato markets.
Thanks for any help.

I am suprised that no-one has been in touch.
Take the road north out of Ponteland, through Berwick Hill to Old Horton and Horton Grange and then it goes to Blagdon. Turn left (north at Horton Grange. Bellasis Bridge (map ref NZ 190777) is about a mile north of Horton Grange. It is a narrow hump backed bridge over the River Blyth. About a quarter of a mile further on the right is a junction and a short track to Bellasis Farm. Carry on and you get to Stannington.
Horton Grange Country House Hotel and Northumberland Cheese Company at Makemerich Farm are close and have websites.
Hope this helps

Thank you so much for this information. I shall keep it handy and if I make it to England, I'll be getting this info out and following it to the letter. I am so interested in going to places of my ancestors. It brings them alive and makes everything so much more meaningful.
