Hi
I am hoping this is on the right board as have been popping in to have a look round! ;)
I have been trying to find an Iseal J C Whitbread. The only record I can find of him is on the 1881 Census his address is:17 Helena Road, windsor aged 1 month.
I cant find a birth, death or marriage for him at all.
Also an Anthony H E Whitbread of the same address, all I can find is Anthony Walter E Whitbread and dont know if he is the same person or not. Both of these sons were born in Windsor ???
Their father is Thomas William Whitbread and their mother is Frances Groves. Their other siblings are Thomas W C, Rosa Frances and John Frederick G (B 1874 and d 1876)
Any help any one can give would be greatly appreciated ;D
Kind Regards
Sharon

Hi Sharon
Welcome to Rootschat.
In the 1891 census - Iseal is written as Isaac. Looking at the 1881 census the H could be a W as it is very similar to Thomas's W. The daughter aged 4 is written as Frances H and the H is very different from Anthony's.
The 1891 census is as follows:-
RG12/1012 Folio: 55 Page: 14
3 Lime Grove, Clewer
Thomas Whitbread Head 46 Marlboro Wilt Engineer's Labourer (Debility)
Frances Whitbread Wife 39 Windsor Berks Charwoman
Thomas Whitbread Son 18 windsor Berks Footman
Anthony Whitbread Son 12 Windsor Berks Scholar
Isaac Whitbread Son 10 Windsor Berks Scholar
Harry Whitbread Son 7 Windsor Berks Scholar
Ernest Whitbread Son 5 Windsor Berks Scholar
Samuel Whitbread Son 3 Windsor Berks
George Whitbread son 7months Windsor Berks
Cheers

Hi Sharon,
I´m searching for my grandfather. His name is Thomas Whitbread and he was born 18th April 1913. He was Corporal in the Infantery Wiltshire Regiment No78 in Wolrd War II. From July to December he was in Germany. My mother was born in May 1946. She never knew about her dad till my grandma died last year.
Now we are searching for relatives. I saw your toppic and tried. Hopefully you or somebody else have any informations abour him.
PS. I visited rootsweb.com and saw your essay about two other whitbread families. That should be his father and grandfather by the dates of birth, therefore I started writing to you.
Hope you can help
Bye Steffi

Hi Sharon,
I put a search in under Military forces and onr member told me, that our grandfather is named Henry Thomas Whitbread, died in May 1995 in Devizes, Wiltshire. That brought us a step forward. I posted a letter to a family of Whitbreads in Devizes, in order to give me some more informations, I hope they´ll answer. That is all we know abour granddad, but thanks for trying to help.
Kindly regards
Stef
