Post by: dotty on Monday 22 June 26 11:04 BST (UK)
not sure if this is the right board to post but I need help advising me on how to obtain a birth certificate from Belgium .John Anderton was born in Mariekerke Antwerp Belgium in 1947 to Leontine Catry and Arthur Anderton. Leontine died when John was young and Arthur returned with John to England .John's birth certificate has been lost and we are trying to obtain a duplicate.
Any suggestions much appreciated

You'll need to read through this:

There is a birth in the Armed Forces and  British Consular records for John J M Anderton  born Antwerp, Belgium it doesn’t give the exact year but it’s in the correct section 1946-50. You  can get the birth certificate from the GRO. Volume 42 , page

Often the births of children born to British Nationals  abroad can be bound in the Armed Forces and Consular records.
