Wanlockhead is a mining village in the Leadhills, Dumfriesshire, Scotland.
Apparently 150 men were recruited around 1800/1803 with a knowledge of mining and explosives. I have so far been unsuccessful in finding a list/details of the men and their Regiment .

have you contacted the lead mining museum there? they have an extensive library/visitor centre etc
