Title: Smart. British Army. Date of photo and regiment, if possible.

SURNAME: Smart
LOCATION: United Kingdom
I would be grateful if anyone is able to give an approximate date to this photo. It's either my mother's brother (born 1910) which would make it WW2, or her father (born 1870) so likely from WW1. Both served in the British Army. A regiment would be even better but thanks in advance for a response.

The man here is wearing a 1902 pattern uniform which was normal wear
up until the mid 30's.
So for someone born 1910 & joining up late 20's - mid 30's could still be wearing that
style of uniform.
He's wearing a bandolier & carrying a sword so a regular Cavalry Regt. but no way
of knowing which one.
