I'm looking to find out about this marriage which may be connected to my family. Maybe they had siblings with descendants.
Edward Morris is quite a common name in Shropshire and it's hard to distinguish between them. I haven't been able to sort out Hannah's family really either.
Name Hannah Houghton
Gender Female
Marriage Date 21 Oct 1782
Marriage Place Bayton, Worcester, England
Spouse Edward Morris
FHL Film Number 991964
I have also posted under two other threads about this branch of my family, in Worcestershire and Shropshire.
I will try and attach the links without losing this post.
Please understand this is just a general info. request (open friendly chat type of thing) in an effort to make headway identifying my 3x GG as possibly being Charles Morris (1824-1857) b. Cleobury Mortimer, stonemason.
Charles's parents are John Morris = Maria. Charles died single. Jane Dayus (1826-1912), Chelmarsh, Shropshire is the applicable 3x GG.
Goal is to get a Charles DNA confirmation, through an associated family member, on ancestry.
Have a great day.
Thanks,
Lesleyperry

Hello
Just a quick look but Charles Morris of Cleobury Mortimer born 1824 is the son of John and Maria Morris. ,wheelwright.
John married Maria James at Stockton on teme 13.7.1823 as a bachelor from Kimbolton.
She was buried at Cleobury Mortimer 24.3.1829 age 28 .
He would have had 2 sons Charles 5 and John 3 so would be keen to marry again.
So a second marriage seems likely and a marriage to Margaret Kirk at Kimbolton 5.8.1830 would fit as John is listed as a widower.
So there are a John and Margaret having children baptised in Cleobury Mortimer after 1829 /1830
Josiah 6.9.1835 ,William 21.8.1842 ,and Robert 10.6.1851 .
He is a carpenter and mother's maiden name is Kirk.
They are on the censuses 1841-1871
John burried Wribbenhall 22.1.1877 no age given.
On the censuses 1841 born 1801 carpenter
1851- 1787 Burradon Shrops
1861 1797 Barraston Shrops
1871 1796 Boraston Shrops
It does seem to be the right father and mother for Charles ,and Edward and Hannah's son John Morris born 1788 could well be right.

Re: Edward Morris (1786-18?) = Ann Reece m. 1796, Need Solars, Cleobury Mortimer.
Three questions.
1. Which Thomas is a son of Edward Morris (1786-18?) = Ann Reece, a. or b. (if either)?
a. Thomas Morris (1811-1888) CM = Martha Vale, 1828, Caynham, Shropshire.
b. Thomas Morris (1812-1887) CM = Elizabeth Elcock, 1841, Chelmarsh, Shropshire.
2.Who are the other set of parents?
3.Is Edward Morris (1786-18?) = Ann Reece m. 1796, a son of Hannah Houghton?
Notes
Two ancestry trees (a 6th DNA connection tree and mine) are listing both these Thomas Morris men with the same parents (Edward Morris = Ann Reece m.1796).
Thomas Morris (1812-1887) = Elizabeth Elcock, knew Charles Morris (1824-1857) on both the 1841 & 1851 censuses (Charles possibly 3x GG).
I will also be researching but this is what I'm trying to find out.
Thank you.
