Title: Hoo Hall
Post by: percy porter on Wednesday 25 February 26 01:00 GMT (UK)
Is it possible to do a search of addresses on the census? I am trying to find who lived there in the mid 1800's.
I know who owns the property but not who the resident's where

TIA

There is the family of Ellis GLEED (35, farmer) at Hoo Hall

1841 -  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M73D-Z6C?lang=en

1851 - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGR2-YSD?lang=en

Still there is 1861, though I can't find it on familysearch.

I can't attach it here, but if you are interested there is a nice obituary for Ellis GLEED:
Tuesday,  Mar. 16, 1886
Publication: The Ipswich Journal

Page 1 of the Ipswich Journal, 3 Jun 1854 carries two adverts referring to "Hoo Hall. One relates to the  "Grand Courts Baron of Sir Edward Clarence Kerrison" at Oakley, the other to supplying improved turnip manure and mentions the Ellis Lethers Glede at Hoo/Plomesgate (already mentioned). Oakley and Hoo are about 19 miles apart and the adverts may be referring to the same property. Just want to confirm you are chasing the Hoo/Plomesgate property already well identified by Maddy?

I cannot post images of the newspaper adverts (status of post does not cater for attachments).
