Title: Mary O'Toole (ne Kinsella) arrest in Dublin between 1930 and 1940
Post by: Mick 245805 on Wednesday 18 February 26 21:54 GMT (UK)
Hello, wonder if anyone can help. I had an old family story that when my father Patrick Joseph O'Toole was young living in Newmarket Street Dublin between 1929 and 1939 his mum - my Grandmother Mary O'Toole (ne Kinsella) was arrested for fighting in the street, whereby my father went to live with his aunt.
That's all I have from my father who has now passed.
If anyone knows how I could search maybe police or newspaper records please let me know.
Thanks
Mick

Have you tried searching the Dublin newspapers on the Irish Newspaper Archive website....a subscription site?

I can access irshnewsarchive with my Australian National Library card. I had a look yesterday, but couldn't see anything that looked likely.

There was a Mary O"TOOLE of Granby Lane fined 5s for obstructing the street in 1931, but nothing that matched your description.

There was also an advertisement for a lost dog "J. O'Toole, 47, Newmarket, Dublin." In the Evening Herald 4 July 1938. Is this your family?

Hello Maddy's52 thank you for the suggestions and searches, very much appreciated.  I'm not sure of a J O'Toole however it's the right area and time frame so could be. Its another lead to investigate.
Thank you.
Best wishes, and I'll update the string if I find anything from it.
