Title: MyHeritage - worth the sub?
Post by: Annie65115 on Wednesday 18 February 26 17:34 GMT (UK)
I keep getting matches through MyHeritage but can't see the details because I don't have an active sub. They arehowever offering me a big discount to renew a long-forgotten sub.

I've already got subs with Ancestry, FindMyPast and the Genealogist (that last really for the maps).

Would there be anything to be gained in terms of available resources from getting a MyHeritage sub as well?

Some people love it, some hate it. I wouldn't be without it. If you're serious about research go for it.

I bought a DNA kit from MH and after an online chat was offer a sub of £59 for 12m

If you're talking about paper records (BMDs etc.) and can wait patiently, MyHeritage does free weekends at intervals during the year, often country- or event-specific but sometimes more general. They are usually announced on The Common Room forum here, albeit with short notice.

What resources does it offer that ancesty and FindMyPast don't?

Different records and different DNA matches. You can check their catalogue for what documents they've got, without a subscription.
