Struggling to find the 1911 and 1921 census records for my grandfather.
Born in 1888 to Thomas & Cecilia Davies in Hereford, I have his 1891 & 1901 records.
In 1911 Thomas would be 23 so maybe no longer in the family home, however, his attestation papers in 1914 give his home address as Holmer Villas, Holmer Road, Hereford, the other fly in the ointment, he's spelt his surname Davis, without the 'E'
I expected to find him in Herefordshire in 1911 and probably in Salford or Manchester in 1921, he survived WW1, along with my maternal great grandfather Joseph Bell who was in the same regiment as him, who in 1921 is listed as a labourer on Salford docks, a job Thomas also did, my grandmother is Elsie Bell, daughter of Joseph so its not a big leap in putting him in the same area in 1921, although she was only 15 in 1921, they married in 1930.
The 1911 & 1921 census in Hereford shows his parents and his brother harry, other siblings are elsewhere.
Any help in finding him on these 2 dates would be appreciated.

Could it be he cannot be found in 1921 as he may still have been military. You do say he survived ww1.

Good point Softly, I hadn't thought of that, unfortunately the answer is no, he was demobbed on 15 January 1919, the address for his pay on his discharge papers is Holmer Villa's, Hereford.
