Title: Nun
Post by: 3Chant on Monday 16 February 26 11:36 GMT (UK)
Can anyone identify which order this catholic nun belonged to from her costume? The detail on the crucifix is blurry. The photograph is from a studio in Buenos Aires and I have an address for an 'Annie Sister Stanislaus' in Buenos Aires but the address no longer exists. She is originally from Ireland or possibly USA.

I think it says sancta unio on the cross, and these are worn by Holy Union Sisters.
They were present in Argentina by the late 1880's

Thank you so much, Fiddlerslass. I have had a root around the Holy Union sisters website and I am sure that you are right. Another piece of the jigsaw.
