Title: Abingdon marriage 1806
Post by: decor on Monday 09 February 26 10:46 GMT (UK)
I saw an interesting marriage in an online tree which might be relevant to my own family research. But I'm always wary of anything I find in an online tree so I wanted to check if the marriage record actually exists and what details it includes.

9th December 1806 Abingdon (not sure which parish, St Nicholas or St Helen?) between Henry Fisher and Mary Brown.

Would any kind soul with access to the Abingdon parish records be able to check that for me? Thanks very much in advance!

I only have the transcripts from the Oxford FHS for Abingdon St.Helens and can confirm
the marriage is exactly recorded as your posting.

possible baptism for Mary Brown 4-11-1783 (d/o George & Ann, Tailor)

For Henry - there are several but the most likely could be bapt. 28-11-1765 (s/o William & Elizabeth, Gardener.

Thanks Alan, that's brilliant. Was there any information about their marital status, i.e. bachelor, spinster, widower, widow?
I'm investigating the possibility that it was Mary's second marriage.
All the best
