The passenger list for this ship on Familysearch does not provide a list of births and deaths on board during this second voyage that left Liverpool on 6 Nov 1841 and arrived at Nelson on 7 Apr 1842.
This list exists as I have seen references to it.
One of those was to the Petone Early Settlers website, which has now closed.
Can anyone assist please.
Thanks

There are several lists but none so far showing births and deaths:

Thanks Minniehaha.
Had seen that Geni list.
Have been given the death date of one person I had been looking for, which came from the Petone Early settlers database, which unfortunately now has gone. Does anyone know if it has been archived anywhere.
Spades, if you are reading this, is there likely to be anything at Archives?
Thanks

Hi Ian,
Hmmm, a tricky one.
I've just realized that I have a copy of J.E. Neale's Pioneer Passengers: To Nelson by sailing ship, March 1842-June 1843, which includes the passenger list of the Martha Ridgway although any that died are not indicated. This mentions twenty-one deaths and seven births (page 13).
The full passenger list on page 148 of this title was taken from the Examiner, 9 April 1842, page 19 but this title isn't available on Papers Past.

And as far as I'm aware the Petone Settlers database is no longer available.
I'm wrong. Try this link:

Hi Ian,
This doesn't help your query but you might find it useful.

Try these two websites. The latter is the NZSG and there is a list of branches - contact the Nelson branch to see if they can help:

Thanks Spades.
I did find this on the Archives website. Not sure if it will contain anything. Quite a long link so shrunk it.

Good find,
I'll request it for you.
Have you tried Papers Past - AJHR's and also Magazines? There might be a mention.
Have you considered Nelson City Council archives (I asssume they have them).
And also Nelson Provincial Museum Pupuri Taonga o Te Taiao

I wonder if any of these repositories hold the ship's papers or the Surgeon's log?

Hi Ian,
I've found this list of passengers. There is a cross against three names, all the same surname, but no further information to indicate whether they died en route or later.

Hi Ian,
I ordered your file yesterday but Archives NZ have replied saying that it hasn't yet been transferred across to their new facility. I need to wait a month or so before requesting it again.
We'll have to be patient.

Thank you Spades.

Hi Ian
Can you please PM me in early March with a reminder about the file.
Don't want to forget you.
