Title: Horace Leonard Garside
Post by: Morannes on Friday 30 January 26 13:51 GMT (UK)
I am trying to find out more about my husband's great uncle Horace Leonard Garside, in particular his second marriage to a lady called Amy.
I believe she married as Blundell reg. 11967/1974.  Assuming she married as a widow I looked up her death record from 1985 which lists her father's name as Westmead and Mother 070??  Death reg. 18115/1985 District 001.
This is where my research halts as I don't know where or when Amy was born so I can't trace any more of her family or her 1st husband.
Horace died in 1981 Reg. 2466/1981 District 001.

I am hoping to come to Sydney in the near future and would love to find out more about them before then.  I am grateful for any help with this request.  Where is the best place to visit in Sydney to find records?
Many thanks, regards Sue

Hi, have you purchased Amy's death certificate or the marriage certificate.

The marriage cert   should give details of Amys parents and or previous marriages.

Also the details on Death on NSW BDM site record

GARSIDE AMY18115/1985 DIED WESTMEAD ( no details of parents given names)

see previous Rootschats regarding  Horace

I looked up her death record from 1985 which lists her father's name as Westmead and Mother 070??  Death reg. 18115/1985 District 001.

The 070 is her age at death so born 1915

(The Amy Mildred KAFER born 1915 Newcastle who married Walter Allan BLUNDELL appears to be a different line. https://billiongraves.com/grave/Amy-Mildred-Blundell-Payne-Kafer/25594193?referrer=myheritage)

In 1953, a Samuel McKenry passed away, and one child was Mrs Amy Blundell

Now this Amy was born Amy Gwendoline McKenry in 1911 (not 1915), but possible? Especially if the informant was a bit shaky on her details.

Amy Gwendoline Blundell, nee McKenry died 2013, registered at Mentone, Victoria.  Her husband, Albert Frederick Blundell, died 1985 and they are together on electoral rolls in Melbourne suburbs so I think that rules her out.   :(

Thanks to all who have offered links and advice, particularly clarifying that the Westmead/070 I found on the death listing were a place and age - this was not clear as they were listed under Father/Mother sections.  I will now follow all this up.  Regards Sue
