Title: 1939.query
Post by: louisa maud on Wednesday 14 January 26 11:41 GMT (UK)
Why would a name on 1939 be crossed through when no other person on the page is
William A Rowles  16 /03/1887 and his wife
Honorine  Rowles 25/05/1893, no birth found registered but she died in 1945, on 1939 her name has been crossed through.

As I understand it, those lists were used for lots of purposes in the NHS for years, so she could have been crossed out in 1948 when it was set up, as she was deceased by then

Honorine  Rowles is a bit of a mystery, never found a birth cert, did find a William Rowles marrying a May Jones in 1918, awaiting  cert
1921 and 1939 William's wife appears to be Honorine.
I have asked about this woman on another message, not sure how to tie them up.
3 children's  certs MMN  as Jones, last one MMN  Maddocks,  she is a mystery, died in 1945.

I see thanks.

From birthdate 25/51893 there is this Honorine birth

Honorine Marie S Bridault Jun 1893 Wandsworth but she appears to have married someone else.
You may already have discounted her.

Honorine has featured in a LM post earlier. Like others until that marriage cert is ordered we are working a bit blind. I would like to know what the M in May M Jones is and her fathers name and occupation.

Marriage cert ordered, can't wait, I will keep you up to date.
You have no idea how many hours and days I have searched for this woman 1918 there is a marriage to William A Rowles in Newport Wales, May H Jones  not  online anywhere in parish records, at the moment  I have no idea what the H stands for, her death cert shows honorine as does the 1939...I think the Honorine in Wandswoth might be of French parents
Thank you. LM

There is another entry for Honor Rowles with birthdate 24th  May 1893 - a patient in hospital in Kettering.  I suspect that is why she has been crossed off at her home address

Another lengthy newspaper report in 1941 about a coat, it has the same address and names her as Honor MAY Rowles.  It also mentions her daughter 'E'

Yes her daughter was evelyn born 1920, so I am thinking Honorina might be the May H Jones 1893, if she is  I think her MMN   is Moss, but I am putting her on hold  till the marriage cert arrives,  then I will check backwards from 1911.
Thank you all for your help, much appreciated
