Hi, I’m trying to trace my grandfather and I’m hoping someone can help with a lookup. I suspect he was born in India then moved to the Uk, but it could potentially show his parents names
Name: Amarjit Singh Grewal
Married: Joyce E East
Marriage: Sep 1960, Woolwich (Vol 5d, Page 2122)
Children:
- Sharenjit K Grewal (Dartford, 1961-2015)
I can’t afford to order the certificate, but I’d love to know:
- Amarjit’s age
- His occupation
- His father’s name
- Their address at the time
After 1967, He immigrated from the Uk to Canada and had more kids over there
Any help would mean a lot. Thanks so much in advance!
:)

Welcome to RootsChat.
Rootschat has a policy of no living people, so unfortunately you need to remove the children's names.

Not sure that you will have the chance to see the marriage entry for free. Page number is very large - 2122 - which would probably link to a Register Office marriage.

Ancestry have Electoral Rolls for London
In 1958 & 1959 Amarjit is listed at 57 Charlton Church Lane, Greenwich. It seems to be a boarding house or something similar as there are lots of people with different surnames.
1960-1964 Amarjit and Joyce are listed at above address.
1965 they are at 48 Wessex Drive, Crayford, Bexley.
There is an ER for 2000-2006 in Newport for Joyce E Grewal with a person named East also living there.

Did he die in Nottingham in 2011? If so - he was born 1941
If he died in Havering in 2022 he was born 1939
