Hi, if this topic has already been talked about, please direct me to where I need to go....
I've got Family Tree Maker 2019 and can't seem to connect it to Ancestry to back up (export?) my Family Trees to my Ancestry account.
My PC is Windows 11 Pro and I've not had this problem before, though I've not attempted it for a long time.
Also, is there an upgrade to FMT 2019 that I should be able to access?

Which version of FTM2019 do you have? You may need to upgrade to version 2.2. Here's what the Mackiev website says on the issue:
Ancestry Login Issue in FTM 2017 and FTM 2019 for Windows
If you are using FTM 2017 or FTM 2019 for Windows, you may encounter an issue while attempting to use Ancestry-connected features (such as web search and sync) where you are unable to log in to Ancestry.
For FTM 2019 users, you can simply apply the latest free 24.2.2 update, which resolves this problem (and includes many other fixes and new features). For more information about the free 24.2.2 update please click here (https://support.mackiev.com/747822-Free-Update-2422-for-FTM-2019).

HI, if updating to that version of FTM 2019 doesn't work, you may have to consider upgrading to the latest FTM 2024 but there is a cost involved.

Thanks for your reply. How do I find out which version I'm using? I've gone on FTM and clicked "Help" across the top. I've then clicked "About Family Tree Maker" which is botton of the drop-down list.... It says Version 2019 (24.2.2 1560) Build 1560.
Happy to upgrade for a small cost.
Worried about all the possible "spam" websites out there.

I believe that's the current version of 2019.
Do you have Two-step verification enabled on your Ancestry account (its under Account settings)? I can't remember for certain but I believe that can stop FTM syncing with Ancestry and you have to disable it when you want to perform a sync.
I may be getting confused with other software though. :)

Hi, you haven’t explained exactly what the error is.
It looks like you have the latest version of 2019.
There was an issue, I can’t remember if they fixed it in 2019 or not.
Do you have 2FA turned on with Ancestry?
If so try turning it off, connect FTM to Ancestry and then turn 2FA back on again.
That fixed the issue for me when I had something similar.

Thank you, that's worked. Now I need to remember how to "sync" my family tree with Ancestry....
