Title: Jane Butler
Post by: Heirloom1690 on Thursday 18 December 25 14:39 GMT (UK)
Hi everyone thanks for all the help this year.

Can anyone help with Jane Butler it should be easy? but not so.

I have her aged 60 in Flagg Alley Manchester 1841 with Goulden/Golding family.  I think she is the mother of Margaret Goulden wife of Philip Goulden ...the children of Philip and Margaret Goulden have Butler as mother's maiden name so I think Margaret was a Butler and Jane Butler would be her mother.  I think they are from Ireland.  Philip Goulding  is buried Livsey Street Manchester Catholic..
he was a rag dealer. Have him on 1851 census same area and profession. Also probate which I have.

I began checking after 1841 census for deaths GRO in Manchester for Jane Bulters there are a couple Jane Butlers 1842 but died as infants. I was hoping for a bit further information for Ireland.
I think I may be stuck.

Thank you all and Merry Christmas
New Year :)

There is a baptism in 1835 at St Patrick Collyhurst for a James Goulden with parents Philip Goulden and Margaret Butler

ADDED There is a 16 year old son James living with Philip and Margaret in 1851

Hi yes Rosie that is the same family.

I dont think Margaret Butler was married here in England to Philip Goulden Gooldings various spellings, but maybe Ireland although alot of the children were baptised here.

I dont think Jane Butler is here 1851.

I may be wrong.

Thank you for your interest.
