louisa maud, I trust you have them in 1921 census, and William Albert Rowles in 1911
SS
-
Thank you, I do have the census for them but I wanted to look at the original marriage register if it was online , I am helping a friend , would appear Jones features a lot within this family, I also believe May H was also known as Honorine or Honor, doesn't make it easy, does it?
Can't find May H or Honorine on any census
Thank you

no sign of it in the online parish marriages but it may not have been a church marriage.

Ref 11a 482 which I assumed was a marriage I might be wrong .
Thank you

The problem I have at the moment is, her maiden surname at marriage was Jones as it was on the birth of 2 children, her last child born with same parents had her maiden name as Maddocks , so I have a bit of a quandary. LM

Tricky one this!!
3rd child born Jun qtr 1922 - I believe this is his burial
Robert Douglas Rowles died age 13 Months
Burial 9 Jun 1923 Bedwas, Monmouthshire, Wales
Abode 3 Station Terrace, Bedwas
I guess the redacted children would be the first and fourth child
LM as the 1918 marriage doesn't appear to be online to find out the fathers name and his occupation your friend probably needs to think about obtaining that......
Is this her burial?
Honorine May Rowles
Burial 2 Jul 1945 Northamptonshire
1939 her date of birth given 24 May 1893
Could this be a possibility for her birth entry :-\
Sep 1893 Jones May Newport, M. 11a 259
-
Just a thought
The child born 1930 with mother's maiden name Mattocks does the birth certificate show that the father registered the child or the mother?
William A Rowles mother was Ann Matthews - Not Mattocks but a transcription error maybe when asked "mother's maiden name" he gave his mother and not the child's mother.
-
W A Rowles registered the child I believe it to be an error, 1921 and 1939 seem in order.
Another mess someone has got me into
I guess to purchase thec1918 marriage would be a good idea
Thank you

So far can't find a Mattocks involved.

LM
Yes, it's a marriage, but not necessarily a parish one. Could be non-conformist or a registry office.
-
Possibly, but will press on and urge my friend to spend some money,
Thank you
LM

Just to keep you informed I think my friend is ordering the marriage 1918, I have no idea so far where the name Honorine, spent various ways ,I am led to believe, comes from, it occurred to me that perhaps she was born abroad, still searching, well I have given it back to the person concerned now and waiting further details,
Thank you
LM

We are now wondering if Honorine was born abroad, got to double check my info, that's my next job, she is very evasive..LM

Just to keep all those who have helped up to date with what has been found so far.
Quite by pure accident I found Honor and family on 1911 census, Honor listed with surname of Jones, parents listed as Maddox with a sprinkling of Jones siblings, strange thing on birth of Honor's last child she lists her née name as Maddock , prior to that it was Jones, so I think that is the biggest clue so far to prove who Honor was, why she is shown as Honorine other times I do not know.
On 1911 Mary Maddock says she has been married 12 years and only 3 children
From then on I have had the help from at least 2 other Rootschatters who found the family on other census, I am overjoyed to say the least, the person I am helping has been taken ill over the weekend so she doesn't know the latest as yet.
All we need now is the marriage cert, on its way I am told, I will let you now, hopefully the witnesses will be useful.
Huge thank you to all the help I have had, much appreciated.
