Don't know if he was in Royal Airforce as signed up occupation or would it be National Service in 1950's ? Have photographs of him in uniform. Thank you for any help in finding out about him.
-
His entry on the 1939 register is redacted, are you sure that he is deceased. If not you need to remove his name from your heading
-
Don't quite understand what you mean. He is dead by now. But wasn't dead when in Airforce.
He would be redacted in 1939 census as I understand when it was digitalised if they thought someone might still be alive at that time, their details were blacked out.
-
Do you know his date of death?
It's the 1939 register that's being talked about.
-
He appears on quite recent electoral registers
-
Are you assuming he is dead because he was b 1937 or do you know for certain he is? No death showing up to 2023

Brian Hasker died in 2022 in Spain. I wanted to know. if possible, was he in Royal Airforce for real or was it conscription. I see National Service end 1963 and this was in 1950's. A. . . . website used to have military information but it seems this is now an added payable extra.

Conscripted or not he was in the RAF for real. The members of my family who were conscripted would be insulted if there service was not taken as "for real" .. Please remember those conscripted serviceman who served and died overseas....their service was "for real".

from Wikipedia.
In the United Kingdom, military conscription has existed for two periods in modern times. The first was from 1916 to 1920, and the second from 1939 to 1960.

AIR78 index card for RAF OR/NCO has a card in the name of Brian William Hasker 3521141.
There is nothing other than the listed name to link this with the man you describe.
A request using the online .gov.uk method for deceased persons service record would require you provide an dob which RAF Disclosures would use to see if that corresponds to the individual.
The service number from AIR27 denotes entry to RAF sometime between Jan 1955 and 1958 Regular enlistments Ex ATC at RAF Cardington.
The pay site will have no other information than that given free in this post.

Many thanks Ross for the information. Sounds like him and at least I know he was regular and with Royal Airforce. I will explore the Gov.UK website as suggested. What does ATC stand for ? I am doing research for a friend and like to type up a Family Story from the information found, so wanted to be correct in what I was including.
