Morning folks
Hope everyone has recovered from their weekend bazaars and services.
Viktoria, the bauble services sounds really nice, we used to do it at the Carol service, I was given the job of approaching people as they came in, I hated it, my feelings were, give them a chance to get in before you ask for a donation towards the bauble, so I stopped going to the Carol service, I don't like night driving anyway, might have to go this year as I have invited friends.
The sun is creeping out , i have just washed 5 nets and cleaned the windows, don't think I can manage the rest today.
Take care, enjoy the run up to Christmas

Almost recovered…slept like a log last night and got up with a spring in my step this morning…
All the better to see the weather was mild little breeze and dry so beds stripped and into the machine.. I do so like to get it on the line for that fresh air smell..
OH put my wreath on the front door after I’d threaded the led battery lights on it and it looks a great!
Today was day for unclaimed raffle prizes to be claimed after phone calls yesterday … just got three left now.
Collected one of the wreaths to take to friend who had hip replacement a couple of weeks ago to deliver tomorrow and have a cuppa with her..
Other friend going in to Leicester to have hers done tomorrow so will see her later this week
Another friend just home last week after 3 months in hospital having had a stroke left her left side weak.. couldn’t even sit up to start with but had constant physio and worked hard to get home… oddly enough it didn’t affect her speech at all..
her OH has prostate cancer and Parkinson’s so they’re both going to need lots of help.
They live in a huge rambling house with lots stairs so going to be a challenge for sure…
going to see her next week see if I can help out at all.. although they’ve got three married daughters who live fairly near..
Just collecting all the money up now to take to our charity this week.. don’t like having that much money in the house want to get rid of it asap..
Looks like baton down the hatches tomorrow..OH decided he’s not going to get soaked on the golf course tomorrow like he did last Thursday so not going to go..
Take care and stay safe… not long now till Christmas!

3 cheers for all you volunteers generous of your time and efforts, always a relief when all the finalising is done and dusted ... until the next time!
Slightly slower pace for me for a couple of days, nursing a little injury requiring stitches, in good hands at our surgery and dealt with quickly as a 'drop in' patient, an appointment to check wound and dressing tomorrow with doctor who did the sewing up. My own doctor was there but they explained if he saw me between bookings it would make following bookings unacceptably late and I was fine with that, didn't know the other one but all good and he could visit me between his booked patients. Couldn't ask for better service than that and close to home as well. Didn't need a tetanus injection, had one 3 years ago when a neighbourhood cat bit me but having not had one prior since advice in 1978 when pregnant and having a nasty broken glass cut to hand but really swollen arm after jab at time was a worry more than the clean cut!
Happy week all ....

The last time I needed a Tetanus injection was ooooo- years ago when a rose thorn really went in deep. I had put some horse manure in the soli a few weeks before ,and it is the manure that carries the bacteria, people used to think it was rust ,but not so.
Hope your wound is quickly healed mare.
Chucking it down again so washing on the maiden - again!
A dark dingy morning.
Son off to head office and will divert to daughter’s as he has a container with stuff stored but that will have to be emptied and what he can keep will come to his house next door ,it is NOT coming in here!
A very long sea kayak as example!
What a sad time ,it is unbelievable
,they were consistently the top outlet .
But it will be called progress that people from Suffolk must travel to Norfolk to get their bikes serviced and repaired etc .
No charge at our bauble service L.M.but the usual collection plate is very healthy!
I have to wash my front door etc then my wreath will go up.
A few cards to hand deliver close by, the rest taken by the postie for me as already stamped.
Well must get on ,look after yourselves folks.
Viktoria.

Thanks Viktoria, checks with surgery Wednesday and today and it's looking good, hopefully final check Monday.
A quiet communication week here, no doubt with seasonal tasks to be taken care of :)
Saturday is 60th birthday of another niece ... ages one! Group accommodation booked, so should be a nice family weekend together. Remembering also my late brother as it's his 20th anniversary as well and had that sad news just after niece's happy 40th get-together. She and her older sister were flower girls at our wedding :)
Cheers for everyone for another end of week and that plans for the festive 'stuff' are all coming together ...

I have hardly any contact with cousins ,used to do when Mum was alive .
Our almost twelve years in Belgium broke many contacts although I did send cards etc.
I answered a post as tgere was a small chance there was some connection to my husband’s father’s family ,no reply and I am told I have no access to the site —-
Well, a bit late but special mincemeat made , oranges and Cointreau!
A dull rainy day ,sion has arrived at my daughter’s ,needs to move stuff they have in storage for him .
Well hope all are alright , knowing some do have problems, which I hope are soon resolved for you.Keep your chins up and battle on folks!

Should have been out for coffee this morning and also singing in a Christmas Concert tonight, but have picked up a nasty cold/throat infection and am really croaking today, so regretfully I can't take part in the concert. Don't want to be spreading germs around for Christmas. Actually I think I picked up this bug at choir practice on Monday, as it started to show itself with a sore throat on Wednesday. Today it has just started the runny nose stage, but it isn't flu. I don't have a temperature or aching limbs, and I will get better for the Christmas jollities.
I still have my cake to ice, though the marzipan layer is already in place. The mince pies are looking good and will be delivered round the family, though I'll save a few for us. I've had my Christmas haircut and the decorations are mostly up. My husband usually brings in a large potted plant in for our tree, often a camellia, which we decorate. Just the windows to clean now and some brass and silver to polish up. I've been on the hunt for LED tealights, but they are like gold dust. OH has had to buy some online.
Keep warm and safe, everyone, and as Viktoria so aptly has said, "Keep your chins up!"

Was tempted to get a swede yesterday, I really like carrots, turnips and swedes ,cooked together, chopped fine with butter and pepper, they were always part of Christmas diner at home and I do them too. It has been hard to find the swedes and turnips lately and buy them too soon and they can be

Such a small problem to fuss over!
Fed my cake last night with brandy .
A dark dull day and was going to go to our little local market but it might well be open tomorrow, our Carol Service too so two birds with one stone!
Well must get on,windows to do ,all three, but two sides of the utility room and kitchen doors are also glass. The window cleaner will come before Christmas,so I have only the insides to do and the utility and french windiows are slightly frosted for privacy——- no one could tell if they are cleaned or not- except me!
Wel hope those unwell are getting better .
Take care everyone.
Viktoria.

Dreading having to do the hectic pre-Christmas "can't leave it any later" shopping! Crowded car parks and supermarket, idiots all over.....Bah humbug! Wish I could hibernate until March 2026.
Still rather wishing we'd heard anything about KGarrad....

WOW! A whole afternoon with The Shadows !
Then with Cliff Richard’s toward the end .
We knew they were good but16 years later they seem better but it was recorded at the 2009 Reunion Concert .
Perhaps it is by comparison ——-.
Soooo cold and heavy rain .
The Carol Service was lovely ,our two young organists nearly caused structural damage - a thundering duet ,our organ used to be in Brompton Oratory, and costs a fortune to maintain but what a thundering great beast it is, enough to seriously loosen fillings!
I suggested that the two players -who also did a piano duet ,should stage a concert ,they are truly talented .
Good some contact with T.Y.Hopefully some good news.
Well I had so much planned for this afternoon but took ages to get warm then- The Shadows-
My treat to,myself ,and the good thing is I have C.Ds
Look after yourselves folks,a busy time.
