Title: Looking for the death of Henry King Seamons b. 18337
Post by: Braindead on Monday 08 December 25 11:59 GMT (UK)
Good afternoon all.
I'm trying to find the death of Henry King Seamons b. 1837 at Weedon, the son of John Seamons and Elizabeth Honour. I have his birth registration and baptism, and there is a parish burial record for a 9 year old Henry King Seamons on the 19th November 1846, but the transcript doesn't give his parents' names. I cannot find a GRO death registration either.
He appears with the family in the 1841 census, but not the 1851 census, so I think the burial is likely to be him but obviously I'd like to be sure.
Just to complicate things, there was another Henry King Seamons born in Weedon in 1841, the son of Henry King Seamons and Mary Ann Burrell.
Any information anyone can find would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

There’s a King Simmons in Dec 1846 Aylesbury on Free BMD but haven’t checked the age **

** GRO entry age 9

Digital image available should you think it a possibility

THank you for finding the entry. I shall check with the digital image ASAP but I have little doubt that it's the right person. IF not, I'll be back to repost.
Thanks again.

I've checked the digital image and even with the name difference, there's little doubt that the King Simmons of the GRO entry is Henry King Seamons.
The father's name and the death location of Weedon match. The informant would have been young Henry's aunt but as she made her mark I assume she wasn't literate enough to spot the differences in the name as written.
There's no King Simmons in the local GRO birth indexes to match the age (Henry King Seamons is in the indexes and also there's a baptism record for him). The only relevant burial at Hardwick was for Henry King Seamons on the 19th November.
