Title: 1939 register on ancestry

i am trying to search the 1939 register o ancestry but i wanted to search the address it is throwing up lot of different addresses not in order any help please

Try the keyword field however, in many cases Ancestry does not have accuate addresses/streets on the 1939 register for family groups eg if the top line is redacted then the rest of the page dittoed or the street carried on from a previous page no attempt is generally made to find & index. Often you have to page back or forward & work out the street yourself. Findmypast do a better job.

In my area, the schedules in 1939 follow the same route as in the 1911 and 1921 Censuses. If you can find the house, or something near it, in the previous couple of censuses, you may find it easier to locate it in the 1939 Register.
