Low Bentham, Yorkshire (West Riding) is 3 miles (5 Km) N of Tatham, Lancashire. This is measured directly between the two points 'as the crow flies' ignoring any geographical features such as rivers or hills.

I am a little confused by you mentioning a William Foster baptised 1828 - as you didn't list him.

However, there is a baptism for him on 4th May 1828 at Masham.

Father - William, a Flax Dresser - mother Anna Maria.

This is amongst the North Yorkshire baptisms on Ancestry - and possibly elsewhere.

There's a death registration in Kendal district for a William Foster age 20 in 1849 (Q1)
Volume 25  Page 377
Maybe William junior.

There's a William Foster bapt in Bentham on 01 May 1796 s/o Thomas and Ann
and another bapt on 02 Jun 1793 s/o John and Agnes

One possibly married a Mary Allison on 29 June 1816 in Bentham, Witnesses Richard Foster and Mary Foster. This William was a weaver

The other was the marriage you mentioned for William the flax dresser. His witnesses were Isabell Wildman and Robt Hodgson

In 1841 ages were rounded down to nearest 5 or 0. Can the William who married Mary Allison be found in 1841 / 1851 for elimination?

Tatham has two churches, most records are indexed in the Lancs. OPCS but this burial not found at St. James.
Not included are burials 1813 onwards for The Good Shepherd.
