I have just switched on my Family Tree Maker 2017 and clicked on a photo of one of my ancestors on their family tree page, the photo is there, but to look at individually I am unable to . A box comes up with all the media items listed and a message find and relink missing media items (2291 )
I think the 2291 could be the amount of media items I have linked.
It would appear I may have taken a file from the programme, although I can not be sure. It was all working fine yesterday.
I would be grateful for any suggestions that may solve my problem and help me restore all my media.

Hi,
You would get that message if you had moved where the original pictures were stored. There might be several reasons for that.
Is your tree linked to Ancestry at all or do you have Microsoft One Drive?

It looks as if a lot of your media items have moved to a different folder. Have you moved the tree file to a new folder? FTM expects to find the media in the same folder as the tree file.
Try clicking on the 'find and relink missing media items' - FTM will search on your local computer and might find the items.
Good luck

Hi Martin and David
Thank you for taking the time to read and reply to my enquiry.
All my tree is stored on the one drive.
I took your advice Martin and it seems to have worked, i shall be more careful in future.
Thank you both once again.
