Hi everybody!
I haven't been here for a while - life was taking me down other paths... :)
I find it embarrassing to have to ask for help, seeing as I often used to help other people with exactly this kind of document, but in my defence, your Honour, ;) I haven't looked at anything like this in ages! :-[
And I am having problems getting back into the swing of it...
It's a German death cert from 1907.
I don't need a full transcription (and I can translate it myself), but I would be really grateful for a bit of help with a few words.
I really need all the names, dates, places and relationships.
What I have managed to work out is:
The death certificate, dated 30th September 1907, in Neukirchen, is for Elisabeth Weimar, née Knauer.
The informant, her daughter-in-law, is Anna Katharina Weimar, née Falk (what is the word following Falk?).
The address is very obviously Neukirchen, but does it simply say Hausnummer 46?
Elisabeth Weimar, née Knauer, aged 73, evangelical religion, resident at the same address, born in Neukirchen (and then follows that word again! What is it?! :P)
Daughter of (xxxxx What is this word? Pfl... maybe? I'm stuck!) Heinrich Knauer, and his wife Maria Elisabeth nèe Schott.
Both (something or other) in Neukirchen. Same address in Neukirchen.
Elisabeth died on the 28th September (correct?) 1907.
I can't get my head around the text following "verstorben sei". A quick summary (German will do) would be fine.
Thanks very, very much in advance! :-*
All the best,
Karen

Zefiro, you are a star! :-* :-* :-*
Thank you so much! That has really helped me. Even though I am extremely embarrassed about not seeing "Witwe" as the word following the two women's names..! ::) When you know what it is, it is obvious! ;D
My brother has re-started researching his wife's family. Up until recently, there had been a virtual brick wall behind the immediate family, but thanks to DNA-testing and the expansion of Ancestry's database, he has made progress.
The only thing is - if his findings are correct - the research has taken a surprising turn, and this branch of the tree would appear to belong to an unexpected species. ;D
The result of all this is that I may well be looking at more old German certificates in the coming weeks.
As for woofer, he is, I am glad to say, still with us.
Ali turned 14 recently - a milestone that we had not dared to hope he would achieve, given his start in life and his horrendous injuries.
He is now very slow and very wobbly, but still enjoying life. He still has the occasional mad five minutes in which he throws his toys around the living room and acts the clown, my gorgeous baby. :)
Anyway, enough of my ramblings. Thanks again, and have a lovely Sunday.
Greetings from a grey and damp Northern Germany,
Karen
