Title: Bridgehouse, Appleby, Westmorland
Post by: Gigi on Friday 28 November 25 09:12 GMT (UK)
Hi All,

In a FindMyPast burial record the residence is Bridgehouse, Appleby. The family were from Hilton. Does anyone know where Bridgehouse is? Cannot find it on google, Genuki....

Thanks

Gigi

Depending on the date of the record you mention it could be that the property has not existed for a long time. Given that there is a bridge in Appleby as well as Bridge Street, it could simply be a house that was located by the bridge. I can't find any specific reference to a Bridge House, though. What was the date?

Also written as Bridge House.

This one is a possibility - very close to Hilton: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/167209823#/?channel=RES_BUY

Hi

The record date was 1788. I imagined it was a hamlet. Wouldn't have been anything grand.

Bridge House in Murton looks nice. Maybe this is it and the house has been much improved since 1788!

Thanks
