Title: Killean Cemetery Plot Map
Post by: tkgafs on Wednesday 26 November 25 11:08 GMT (UK)
Does anyone have a plot map for Killean Cemetery or could explain where plot 17 first extension would be located.

I'm trying to locate the grave of John Craig Gardiner (May have been know as Ewan) 1915-1940 and his wife Elizabeth McLachlan 1910-1997, I'm presuming there is not a headstone as I can not locate anything on Find a grave.

John died in Argyll County Sanatorium 4th July 1940 of tuberculosis
Elizabeth died in Perth 9th Feb 1997

Any help gratefully received

A quick online search turns up https://mapcarta.com/W200653231/Map - zoom in to see where the extension is.

Generally speaking most cemeteries are managed by the local authority, who will have plans. As this one is in Argyll, either it is managed by Argyll and Bute Council, or they will know who manages it.

Start at https://www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/births-deaths-and-marriages/burials-and-crematoria-contact-details - Killean comes under Kintyre so use the Campbeltown address.

There are some photographs of the graveyard at https://www.geograph.org.uk/gridref/NR6944 though none show the extension.
