Did she have a sister named Elizabeth?  If so, this may be her on the 1880 census - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MCZM-1KG?lang=en  The age is a little off from the death record.

Mary's death was also mentioned in a Louisville newspaper - https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-courier-journal/185442217/

And in Belfast, in case you haven't seen it - https://www.newspapers.com/article/belfast-news-letter-obituary-for-mary-cl/185442290/

The left margin of the census page says they are on the west side of 4th street.

I think "ss" meant south side. A list of abbreviations might be at the beginning of the directory.

Mary & Eliza in the 1881 Louisville directory:  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QHN-G3YP-FV4X?view=fullText&keywords=Mary%20Cluff%2CCluff%20Mary&lang=en&groupId=

If Eliza is her sister, it looks like she stayed in Louisville, married a William Nettleton in 1892, and died in Kentucky in 1915.

The obituary of Elizabeth Cluff Nettleton (assuming she's your Mary's sister) mentions being survived by a sister in Ireland and two cousins in Louisville.  https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-courier-journal-obituary-for-elizabe/185444415/

Elizabeth's death record lists her mother as Margaret Johnston, but doesn't give a first name of her father.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N9NY-6YW?lang=en  Perhaps that's because the cousins were Johnstons and they didn't know the father?

In case it helps, the cousins of Elizabeth mentioned in her obituary appear to be Clement Brown Johnston and Charles Wiley Johnston.  There is a tree that lists their father as being born in Co. Tyrone.  https://www.familysearch.org/en/tree/person/details/LBN7-9HN

There is a mention of Miss Eliza Cluff of Louisville, KY sailing from NY to Liverpool in 1861.

There is an article about Elizabeth's will and her having a sister named Isabella Cluff of Magharaglass.  Some nieces, nephews, and cousins are also mentioned. https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-courier-journal/185449105/

It looks like Elizabeth's charitable donations in her will included a place that still exists.

A Legacy of Caring Since 1914

The story of Wesley Manor began in 1914, inspired by the visionary compassion of Mrs. Elizabeth Nettleton, a Louisville milliner dedicated to the well-being of older adults. Her unexpected bequest to the Old Louisville Methodist Conference sparked a movement to provide care for those in their golden years.

Do you have any information about when Mary and Elizabeth were in Ireland before immigrating to the US?  Or if any other family members came to the US?  The passenger lists from then have such limited information, and when factoring in them having common first names, there are lot of "maybes" for the passenger lists.

In the 1881 directory I see a Belle Cluff at the same address as Eliz and Mary.Wonder if that is sister Isabella who was referred to in thw will and died in 1924 in Ireland?

It could be.  There's also an Isabella (surname spelled as Cluffe) in the 1883 Louisville city directory and Isabella Cluff in the 1884 Louisville directory.  She is residing at 320 4th St. in both of them.  They both have Eliza Cluff, milliner, or E. Cluff living at 706 W. Jefferson.

Some more information,I found a will for James Johnston, died 17 March 1865,Reference is made to Margaret Cluff, sister and beneficiary,John with an address in Louisville,Ky, brother and beneficiary and David ,brother who inherited the farms. Question is John the father of the cousin mentioned in will of Elizabeth. and did he marry in America. the will is listed in PRONI/Wills

I think the cousins mentioned in Elizabeth's obituary are Clement Brown Johnston and Charles Wiley Johnston.

Clement's death record gives parents as John Johnston & Harriet Lewis.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NSPH-5RP?lang=en

This tree says that couple married in Kentucky.  https://www.familysearch.org/en/tree/person/details/LWQH-62S

Looking at the 1860 census, there is an Elizabeth Huff living with the family.  She was born in Ireland and is the right age for your Elizabeth Cluff.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MZB8-QDM?lang=en

There seems to be a 10 year old Mary born in Ireland in the 1850 census with John, Harriet, & family.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M65H-YSC?lang=en  The age is a little off, and the surname is not a fit, but it's interesting.
