Hi There,
My 3rd great grandaunt Harriet Gadney married Thomas William Rutter. Harriet’s mother Susan Gadney is buried with several of the Rutter Family in London. I cannot decipher which members of the Rutter Family these are. Can anybody here possibly figure it out?

Phoebe is Susan’s daughter Harriet’s mother in law. The mother of Harriet’s husband. So the others must fit in somehow aswell but I cant seem to figure out where they do!

Sorry Tomgad, I'm a little unsure of what you are saying in your last post. Could you explain a little more in detail.

I can’t find any marriage for them but I do believe they were married. The record must just not have survived. To have that many kids during those times and not be married was rare. If they were married it was probably in 1841 as in the 1841 Census she is listed as Susan Gadney but in an 1840 Newspaper article she is just listed as “Susan Wells”
The newspaper article was May 2nd 1840 and the 1841 Census was taken on June 6th 1841. So I think they got married inbetween those two dates.

It was not rare to be unmarried and have lots of children in those times, some chose not to marry and others already had a spouse elsewhere
