Hi
Another brick wall in my reaseach relates to Agnes May Grindle (b1892 Rotherham - Vol 9c pg 722 Jul-Sep) and more specifically her husband, William Bennett whom she married in Rotherham in 1911 (Vol 9c pg 1189 Jul-Sep).
I can find nothing about him or where he was born. I'm assuming he was a local man to her but I don't want to order a marriage certificate if a kind soul on here can help me with his details first?
The couple don't seem to have had any recorded births of children (according to the GRO's Own Birth Registration Index) from 1911 onwards and I also couldn't find any potential candidates in the 1921 Census.
Any help or pointers would be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance,
Frank

Knarf - do you know Agnes's father's name please?
There was an Agnes May Grindle who married in Kimberworth on 26 Aug 1911 (aged 19) - but her husband looks like a Harry Rawson. Kimberworth was near Rotherham.
Her father's name was George Grindle, a Bricklayers Labourer.
The church record of this marriage is on Find My Past.

1911 she is at Dovercourt Road with parents George and Rose Hannah Grindle.
The marriage certificate also gives that address.

Did you assume she married William Bennett because his name also appears on the freebmd entry?
-
Yes amondg - thank you for that - I should have mentioned that additional info of the address.
The Harry Rawson, groom - aged 21 was at 17 Victoria Ave, Clifton - but his father seems to have a different surname (maybe he's a step father) -- Joseph Newsum? I may be mis-reading that.

Hi
Thanks all for responding so quickly. I admit I was led down the wrong path by a User on another family tree site who had entered William Bennet as her husband, I had assumed she knew more than me as Agnes May Grindle is not one of my direct/indirect ancestors.
My experience told me that the William Bennett I was interested in was unlikely to have travelled from Tredegar in Monmouthshire to marry a Yorkshire lass so I can be pretty confident now that the Agnes May (but Matthews) he married perhaps caused confusion in the other User's mind.
I can confirm that the father of Agnes May Grindle was indeed George Grindle and her mother was Rosanna Gullick.
I will now correct the error in my tree and attribute the correct husbands to both ladies and hopefully the other User who must have assumed her Agnes's marriage to William Bennett can continue the research into the Rawson/Grindle line.
Thanks again to everyone who contributed, you're all superstars!
