Caroline was born on February 22nd 1871 at 28 Mount Street, Charlton, Kent to her parents William Alfred Hall and Elizabeth Sarah Hall (nee Lyons).
She married my great grandfather William Thomas Gadney while he was already married to another man but that is a different story. On the marriage certificate William and Caroline are both living at the same address. 3 Frederick Street (not sure where this is though)
The witnesses on the marriage are Charles Henry Hall (Presume thats a relation of Caroline’s?) and Adelaide Fowler.
The last record for Caroline I can find is her in the 1921 Census living in Finsbury. She is listed as the Head of the House as she is living by herself. She is listed as working for the GPO aswell.
I cannot find any newer record for her after this so I suppose she died between 1921 and 1939. Can anybody find any info on her death?

I have just found a record who could possibly be her aswell in 1927. Living in the same buildings as she is in 1921 just a different number. In 1921 she’s in 37 Northampton Buildings but theres a record for somebody with her same name in 1927 living at 248 Northampton Buildings.

Found another one dated 1930. So she must have died after 1930

Charles Henry Hall bap. 17 September 1869 son of William Hall and Elizabeth Sarah
St. Luke Charlton by Greenwich Kent.
So he was her brother

Found him in the 1921 Census. His wife is called Adelaide. Wonder if its the same Adelaide as the other witness.

Charles Henry Hall married Adelaide Fowler. As I suspected. The same woman

When was William Thomas Gaadney's previous marriage?. I have found one which looks like a subsequent marriage in 1900 to Mary Gertrude Clark. He marries as Thomas, but is William on 1901 census. If I have the right person on military records, his NOK are parents, not wife

That is correct. William married Mary Gertrude Clarke.

Seems like Edgar was married in 1896 before being married to Caroline. So they were both people who had been with somebody before hand
