Title: DNA testing
Post by: zetlander on Tuesday 11 November 25 21:50 GMT (UK)
How does the system work - If I send for the kit and then return it with the sample - how does it get on to the data bank ?
If a match is found how are we put in touch with each other?
is there an on-going charge to keep my details on the data base?
Thanks.

Zet ,  there are many really helpful films on YouTube that will answer the whole story. The Ancestry and My heritage websites will also answer your basic questions.

Also the Explore your Genealogy website (from the Family History Federation) has some useful articles about DNA: https://www.exploreyourgenealogy.co.uk/dna

Lots of other useful articles about all things family history on the site too so well worth a look from time to time to see what's new.
