I know that George Johnston is a relative of mine but having trouble fitting him in the tree. Perhaps an obit would help. He was 80 years, 1 month, 27 days when he died in Sterling, Massachusetts.
Thanks for any help.

he fits in somewhere near where Jane H Johnston fits in, unless Whaley was a common given name among all Johnstons in the area. :)
his death record says his father was Whaley Johnston, b. Ireland. His mother's name was unknown.

Can't be the same Whaley, since George was born in 1810 and Jane Henry Johnston's husband was born c 1835, acc. to his death record.

Same story for George as for Jane regarding newspaper search and availability - not at newspapers.com, not in familysearch's index, but the Telegram for that year is at genealogybank.

Thank you, oldohiohome. I was wondering what M N stood for. There were several Whaley Johnstons. I have Margaret Loudon in my tree as George’s mother but it could be wrong.

Can anyone find an obit for George Johnston in genealogybank.com in the Telegram for 1890?
thanks
