I am frustrated by the non-presence of Edwin Charles Griffith Lascelles (b. 1890) in BOTH these censuses! I suspect I'll just have to accept this, but if anyone can help, it is the wizards of RF!
This is particularly annoying for 1911 (census taken 2 April). He was attending the Academy for Dramatic Art (later RADA) in London and appeared in a production on 7 April. This performance counted as an examination, so it seems unlikely he'd have left the country immediately before (he got a merit award for his performance).
In 1921 he's listed as Edwin in the electoral roll for Weston Park, Bath, with his parents. (He much preferred to be known as Charles, which sometimes even appears in official records.) I have no other records of him at all in that year but in 1922 he was back on stage again. However, I can't find him travelling overseas.
Any thoughts, anyone?

Try looking at this entry in last census. The transcript could not be more incorrect if it tried with pob and occupation.
Edward Lascelles
10, Myatt Road, Brixton, Lambeth, London & Surrey, England
SS
Not yours--my mistake

Hi,
I think this could be him as Charles in 1911, badly mistranscribed.

I've been looking for him for a while, and that looks very promising. Looking at the handwriting on the original I can see why it was difficult to transcribe.

Congratulations Daisy and thanks to all three of you for looking! The boarding house management evidently asked each boarder to fill in their own details, so Charlie wrote his own entry. This is his signature from 1915 in his service record (TNA WO 339/3520). It's obviously the same hand.
Now I just need to find him in 1921!

In 1921 my cousin, Edwin Vincent was found under his stage name of Edwin Beverley. Do you know his stage name?

Hi there, he performed as Charles Lascelles -- yes, I've tried that too!

He's taken up the wrong profession. He should have been a doctor with handwriting like that ;D

You've probably seen this but it would cover 1921

Hi Lizzie, yes I have, had had it all copied and sent to me, but sadly it doesn't explain why he (apparently) missed the 1921 census! As I said before, he's on the electoral rolls for Bath in that year and in Nov was in a pageant at the Albert Hall, but I've got no other information for 1921 at all.

There's not much wrong with that signature, many signatures are much more undecipherable ! :D
