If anyone has the 1871 and or earlier census for the Penbryn parish Cardiganshire - I would like to know who was living at the following premises with my GGG Grandfather Enoch Davies.
Ffynondudur (possibly Ffynondydir or Ffynonfudir - I have seen it spelt all three ways), Llaen Road, Rhyd Lewis, Llandysil (again there are several spellings for this town name), Cardiganshire/Ceredigion.
This is a longstanding mystery in our family as we do not know the names of the other members of his and we are trying hard to solve it.
Many thanks I hope someone can help as we are going stir crazy surfing the web trying to find out information!!!

Hi, What age would your grandfather have been in 1871. Anything else you know about the family would be appreciated.

Thanks for the offer Ruth, however, I have recently been given information from the 1871 census and in fact, it hasn't helped us at all :( its all quite perplexing!
The 1861 gave us Enoch Davies aged 68, his wife RACHEL aged 68 and granddaughter Esther aged 10
The 1871 gave us Enoch Davies aged 77 and his wife MARGARET aged 54 and no one else.
1981 gave us only Enoch Davies with his granddaughter Esther aged 32 [Enoch died later that year]
However - this particular Enoch, is either the father or grandfather of my GGGrandfather who [unfortunately] was also called Enoch and is the one we are trying to find out information on - he was born around 1828/1833 and we know he was born at Ffynondudir but as yet have not found him on any of the census. The first census we find him on is the 1901 living in Ebbw Vale. Monmouthshire - he died there in 1917. Its quite a puzzler! I think we now need to look for the 1851 census although I believe that this particular census is incomplete.
Thanks once again for the offer - any other suggestions or hints would be gratefully received!
