Title: Help with a name/word
Post by: Gortinanima on Saturday 01 November 25 08:15 GMT (UK)
The will of Avery or Averie Dransfield probated 1614 names his children -

I can read all except the second word, that is the word after children, perhaps a name?

children ---?, John, Arthur, Ambrose and Elizabeth Dransfield

Is it Richard?

Richard - look at the 'h' in John, the same letter is in the middle of the first name

Another vote for Richard.
By the way, I see 'Dransfield' is actually spelt 'Dransfeild' in this clip.
This is commonly seen in old wills - 'field' written as 'feild'.
