Have you checked with your nearest centre whether the film can be ordered for you?
It's a while since I used the one here in England but they ordered a film of a USA baptism from Utah for me. I had to pay a small fee
There is no corresponding birth for those names on the GRO index. What else do you know about her?
She is on a "waifs & strays" outward passenger list from Liverpool to Quebec in 1924
-
Possible for Kathleen in 1911

b London, boarding in G Barford

She is on a "waifs & strays" outward passenger list from Liverpool to Quebec in 1924
UK address for the Waifs and Strays is a C of E home Kennington road London SE
-
FindMyPast has a transcription. There are no parents listed
-
And on 20 Jun 1907, Frederick (Norman) Blackburn (another child boarder in the same household in 1911) was baptised at Great Barford - no parents named.
So it could be that the boarding house keeper is sent orphans from London (but they may not be born there) and has them baptised but doesn't know who their parents are. Are the names they are baptised in their original names or has she invented them? Who knows
-
In Canada the address was Church Hostel for Girls, 661 Huron Street, Toronto Canada
They should have documentation on her. Or the records are held in Ontario.
-
Did she marry Gordon Henry Jobson 2 September 1933 or is this a different Kathleen??
Parents listed were Alfred William Mills and Alice Lawrence, there is such a couple married 1900 Pancras
Needs more research

NOT this person she is living with her family 1911 Ontario Canada

MILLS, MARY KATHLEEN mmn LAWRENCE
1909 M Quarter in ST. PANCRAS Vol 01B Page 115
A bit late for a Kathleen born before 28 Oct 1908
-
Her date of birth 16 August 1907, according to Records under CHildrens Act, BEdford.
(Cannot attach document to this thread, as it is look ups)
I believe her 2nd name was probably Aimee / Amy.
-
There's a Kathleen Mary Mills reg in Bury in that quarter
-
Possible birth
MILLS, AMICE (Amiee) MARY KATHLEEN Mother - FREELAND
GRO Reference: 1908 S Quarter in ISLINGTON Volume 01B Page 156
-
Only Mills /Freeland couple I can find are in Toxteth and they are producing children in Toxteth and Birkenhead between 1903 and 1909 -and maybe later. So not them

As you already know the parish and the exact date, why not just email Bedfordshire Archives and ask for a digital image from their film of the parish register? Seems a much easier way to go!

MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THEY DON'T SEND MICROFILMS ANYMORE! I CALLED THEIR HELP LINE AND SHE SAID THE ONLY WAY TO VIEW IT IS TO GO INTO THE LIBRARY AT SALT LAKE CITY.

THANK YOU AND YES I HAVE RESEARCHED HER AND HAVE THIS. :)

THIS IS REALLY INTERESTING! AND THE OTHERS THAT WERE ON THE POOR LAW RECORDS THAT WERE ALSO BAPTIZED THERE - IT MAKES SENSE THAT THIS IS OURS. THE CHILDREN'S AID SOCIETY NOTED THAT SHE WENT THERE AS A BABY AND WAS PAID FOR HER KEEP FOR 2 YEARS, BUT AFTER THAT FOR 5 YEARS THEY DIDN'T GET ANY $. WHEN SHE CAME TO CANADA AT THE AGE OF 17 SHE IS KATHLEEN AIMEE MARY MILLS AND THERE WAS A BIRTH CERTIFICATE FOR HER IN 1908 AS I HAVE NOTED. BUT I GOT NOWHERE FINDING DOCUMENTATION ABOUT THAT MARRIAGE (MILLS/FREELAND). THANK YOU SO MUCH!

THANK YOU AGAIN! THIS IS AMAZING! SO THE CHURCH/WAIFS AND STRAYS SOMEHOW GETS THESE BABIES AND THEN SENDS THEM TO GREAT BARFORD TO BE WITH THE FOSTER MOTHER. THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE I HAVE THAT HAS AIMEE KATHLEEN MARY MILLS BORN IN 1908 (NOT 1907 AS THE POOR LAW SHOWED) SHOWED HER BEING BORN AT 10 PEMBERTON GARDENS - FATHER'S NAME LISTED JOHN THOMAS MILLS AND MOTHER'S NAME ANNIE (FORMERLY FREELAND) BUT FORMERLY FROM REGENT STREET (WHICH I FOUND STRANGE). I SUSPECT THAT 10 PEMBERTON GARDENS IS A PLACE FOR SINGLE MOM'S TO HAVE THEIR BABIES WHICH IS NEXT TO FOCUS ON!
-
10 Pemberton Gardens was a maternity home. There is a case at the Old Bailey regarding a child born of an unmarried mother being taken from there.

THAT'S ON HER TREE AND I HAVE ALSO ORDERED AN ACTUAL CERTIFICATE FROM THE GRO WHICH IS NOW POSTED. I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT THE REPORTED INFO PLEASE - ITS THE MOTHER REPORTING THE BIRTH AND SHE STATES SHE LIVES AT 10 PEMBERTON GARDENS, BUT THEN SAYS FORMERLY OF REGENT STREET. I'M WONDERING WHY!

I THINK SHE IS OLDER THOUGH...

Thank you - I thought it was easier to see my response in CAPS! Sorry! Thank you for confirming it was a maternity home. I'm now wondering why the birth certificate said "formerly of Regent Street". Perhaps she was working there prior to giving birth.
-
To be accurate, the wording on the birth certificate is....
Annie Mills formerly Freeland of Regent Street Marylebone
