Title: Charles Sinfield, Woburn-ish
Post by: Norfolk Nan on Friday 31 October 25 13:40 GMT (UK)

Charles Sinfield baptised dau Elizabeth in Woburn in 1767, and had married Ann Ireland there in 1766.
(There's a second child, a son Charles bap 1775 in Woburn)

Despite a large number of Sinfields in Woburn I can't find his baptism nor his parents.  The only baptism for a Charles Sinfield, is in 1750 in Lilley, Hertfordshire to Mary Sinfield.  I'd like to think he is more local.

Any help please??

Might the family have been quakers?

There was an earlier incident where quakers meeting in Woburn in 1670 were fined. One of the group was a Thomas Sinfield.

Fiddlerslass - thank you for that suggestion.  I've no idea but it's always possible.  I recognise some of the names mentioned but they also appear as family names in the Woburn registers.  Certainly something worth looking into.  Thank you  ;D
